Disasters of the Christopher No.3 Mine is an interpretive sign joining a trail of similar signs as part of the Scott’s Run Museum to memorialize the tragic loss of miners in the Christopher No. 3 mine until it’s closure. After meeting with community members and learning more about the mine’s history, I developed a style based on emotion and efficiency. The sign was part of a community vote held at the Scott’s Run Street Fair where mine became one of the two finalists for the Scott’s Run Museum. Unfortunately it was not chosen for placement, but was sold as a Museum fund-raiser to community members.
